We are excited to help you move your house!

Yes! Actually, move the house. As in physically picking up the entire structure, loading it onto a flatbed truck, driving it through the streets of LA, and with the help of a crane, the house is gently and precisely moved from the flatbed truck and lowered onto its new foundation.

The house is then secured to the new foundation, and once the renovations and inspections are complete, your house is ready for you to move into.

What we DON’T do.

Yes, we are technically house movers, but we move the physical house, not the furniture inside it.

If you’re moving from one house to another, the term “house movers” also applies to the company and people who help you move all of your furnishings and belongings.

Once WE help you physically move your house to its new location, the other “house movers” can help you move your interior furnishings into your new home!

Did you say you help to relocate houses in LA?

Yes! This is one of my niche specialties. I was hired for my first relocation project in 2004, and I have since completed several projects.

In the not-too-distant past, moving homes was a common occurrence. In the wild west, with so much land available, it was cheaper to build a new home in Los Angeles than to relocate an existing home.

In 2025, we’re at a point where moving a physical home from one location to another might be a practical and economical alternative to building a new home from scratch.

Moving an existing house is not only an ultimate form of upcycling, but it may also be a better way to address our LA County housing shortage while preserving a bit of history.

Disney Movies were instrumental in introducing the idea of moving homes into my consciousness.

The first time I was exposed to the idea of moving house was while watching the 1974 Disney movie, Herbie Rides Again. Spoiler alert: Herbie helps to save a Victorian-style firehouse.

In 2009, the animated movie UP reminded me that beautiful, older homes are worth saving. With the help of numerous balloons, a house is relocated from its original location to a new one.

Thank you for the inspiration, Disney. Now, I help to relocate historic homes for families in REAL LIFE.

Some Relocated Homes

Avenue 64

This house was relocated from Chinatown and is now perched on the highest part of this property. It’s nestled among the oak trees. You might miss it if you don’t know where to look.

Avenue 64

This home was relocated to this site and now serves as the property’s main feature. The original house was relocated behind this one and converted into an ADU.

Avenue 63

This beautiful home was initially moved to its new home and designated as an Accessory Living Quarters. This year, it was officially converted to an ADU.

What does it cost to move a home?

Moving a building through the streets of LA is expensive. It was usually only an act of love to preserve the historic beauty of a home, making the process of obtaining building permits, the physical relocation of the structure, and the necessary renovations worth the cost.

With the rising prices of lumber and other building materials, the cost of moving an existing home might be on par with or even lower than building a brand new home from the ground up. Additionally, you gain the benefit of knowing you are preserving a piece of history.

I have standardized my fees for providing the plans and obtaining the necessary Planning and Building permits to relocate your future home. From what I am told, my fees are very reasonable, especially when compared to other companies doing the same work in Los Angeles.

Shoot me a text and we can schedule a chat. Who knows? Moving your future home might be the perfect solution you didn’t realize was an economical and viable option for you and your family.
